Jeremy Monn, GISP, GIS Specialist III, joined CGIS in 2003 as a GIS Technician II. His primary responsibilities include administration of web services created, maintained, and hosted by CGIS for the Maryland Governor's Office MD iMap Initiative, database development and maintenance, and GIS analysis. He also performs data, GIS analysis, mapping support, and training services for the Maryland Department of Transportation Authority's Google Earth Enterprise, Maryland Transit Administration's enterprise GIS, and Maryland Department of Transportation-Office of Real Estate projects. He trained and supervised technical staff in updating county-wide land use/land cover datasets using property parcel data and high-resolution imagery for the Maryland Department of Planning. As a member of the GIS training team, he teaches hands-on courses in the use of ArcGIS 10. In addition to his full-time work with CGIS, he is adjunct faculty at Towson University, where he teaches map interpretation courses, and at Community College of Baltimore County Essex, where he teaches physical geography courses. Mr. Monn earned an MA in Geography and Environmental Planning at Towson University and a BS in GeoEnvironmental Studies with a GIS Certificate at Shippensburg University (magna cum laude).
