Kevin Kilner is almost a 30 year veteran of film, television and theatre. Most recently he was on stage in Baltimore in Ibsen’s An Enemy Of The People, Directed by Centerstage’s Artistic Director Kwame Kwei-Armah. In 2011 he was Off-Broadway in The Keen Company production of Lanford Wilson’s Lemon Sky.
He was nominated for a Drama Desk and Outer Critic Circle Awards, and he won a Theatre World Award, for his portrayal of the “Gentleman Caller” in the 50th Anniversary production of The Glass Menagerie on Broadway directed by Frank Galati starring Julie Harris with Zeljko Ivanek and Calista Flockhart for the Roundabout Theatre Company.
He starred with the original cast of Matt Arkin, Julie White and Lisa Emery in the 2000 Pulitzer Prize winning production of Donald Margulies’ play Dinner With Friends directed by Daniel Sullivan. He also opened the new Santa Fe Stages (N.M.) as “Lopakhin” in The Cherry Orchard directed by Tom Moore, opposite multi Academy Award Nominated Marsha Mason.
He has appeared on stage with his wife Jordan Baker at The Pasadena Playhouse in the West Coast Premiere of John Patrick Shanley’s play Defiance, and at The Mint Theatre (NY) in Is Life Worth Living? directed by Jonathan Bank.
Mr. Kilner has appeared in numerous films. Most notably: this Summer in Paranoia opposite Harrison Ford & Liam Hemsworth; Julia opposite Tilda Swinton; A Cinderella Story with Hilary Duff, Chad Michael Murray and Jennifer Coolidge; Raising Helen with Kate Hudson, John Corbett and Joan Cusack; Home Alone 3; Shop Girl; Auto Focus; American Pie 2; Music From Another Room with Brenda Blethyn and Jude Law; and Timepiece with Ellen Burstyn, James Earl Jones and Naomi Watts.
In television he has been seen most recently in the recurring role of “Senator Kern” on House Of Cards with Kevin Spacey, Robin Wright, and directed by David Fincher, and on Blue Bloods and Royal Pains.
He is best known and critically praised for starring opposite Nancy Travis on Almost Perfect, and “Boone” in Earth: The Final Conflict, as well as, the still very popular Disney movie Smart House directed by LeVar Burton with Katey Sagal. Other credits include: The Closer; Happily Divorced; Greek (recurring); One Tree Hill (recurring); White Collar (recurring); Damages (recurring); Hawthorne; Life; Ugly Betty; Life on Mars; Eli Stone; Cashmere Mafia (recurring); Ghost Whisperer; CSI: Miami and CSI: NY; Frasier; The Division; and Malcolm in the Middle among others.
Mr. Kilner is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University and played on three NCAA championship lacrosse teams there. He was a Lacrosse All-American in high school, and played for the Maryland Lacrosse Club (MLC) on the 1982 National Club Lacrosse Championship Team. He also played a year of minor league/semi pro football for the Baltimore Eagles.
He began his professional life as a credit analyst and commercial loan officer for First National Bank of Maryland, then moved into management for a mortgage banking company. He was also elected twice to the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) National Boardroom (200-2004) and served there for four years, and on numerous committees (including the Finance and Consolidation & Affiliation - for merger of SAG & AFTRA- committees).
His wife, Jordan Baker, is an actress, producer, teacher, and entrepreneur, and they reside in the Hudson Valley just north of Manhattan.
