Kierran joined RESI in 2012 as a Research Analyst. In this capacity, Mr. Sutherland contributes his GIS expertise to a variety of projects including economic impact studies and presentations. In particular, he has developed both animated and static maps that illustrate the effects of the recession on employment and housing on the state of Maryland.
Prior to joining RESI, Mr. Sutherland worked for CGIS as a GIS Specialist II. In this capacity, he supported project teams by performing a range of GIS data and mapping services. He also participates in outreach programs by assisting with organizing and executing GIS Day and Geography Week activities in public primary and secondary schools.
Mr. Sutherland earned a B.A. in Geography at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. As a volunteer crew chief with the Gunpowder Valley Conservancy he oversees the planting of about 200 trees a year. In his personal time he enjoys hiking, climbing, camping and foosball.
