Tiger LEAP Job Shadowing Program

Spring Break • March 18-22, 2024

Tiger LEAP Job Shadowing Program is an opportunity for students to see what a typical day is like for a professional who is in a related career field. This career exploration activity gives students a chance to learn more about selected industries and job roles associated with their major.

For spring 2024, we are targeting the job shadowing program to the following majors:

Media, Arts & Communication (MAC) - Electronic Media and Film, Communication Studies, and Mass Communication

Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM) - Biology, Mathematical Science, and Physics

What is required to participate in the Tiger LEAP Job Shadowing Program?

Students are responsible for the following to participate in the program:

  • Apply by the deadline Friday, February 16 at by 5 p.m.
  • Attend one mandatory Student Information Session
  • Attend one mandatory Student Orientation to prepare for the experience
  • Once matched, it is the student's responsibility to make contact with the TU alum or employer host to arrange a job shadow date/time/location
  • Prepare for the experience by researching the organization, developing questions to ask, and practicing a 30-second commercial or “elevator pitch”
  • Attend the job shadow experience and be engaged
  • Complete a survey and send a thank you email
