Internships
Students have the opportunity to gain practical work
experience, learn new skills, and develop professional
contacts through internships. The internship is a
critical component of the Exercise Science major and the
Sport Management major. To enroll in KNES 395
Kinesiology Internship, students must have completed 72
units, have overall 2.0 GPA, completed KNES
333 Sport Management (Sport Management majors) and KNES
369 Practicum (Exercise Science majors).
Procedures to Enroll:

Meet with one of the counselors in the
Career Center and create an e-recruiting
account. The Career Center is located in
Suite 315 in 7800 York Road.

Secure an internship.
Look through the e-recruiting database on
the Career Center Web site. Follow the
application procedures outlined for the
specific position. These positions have
already been approved
or
Create your own
internship by completing an Internship
Description Form (available on the
Career Center site). This form must be
completed and signed by your supervisor and
then approved by Vince Angotti in the
Department of Kinesiology. (His office is

- Once you have an internship in place,
make an appointment to meet with Vince
Angotti to receive a Special Permit (course
permission) to register for the course and
to review the
requirements for the course credit.

Notes
• The internship must include a minimum of 120 hours - however,
the internship site might require more. You need to fulfill the
hour requirement that the site sets and that you agree to before
the experience begins.
• The internship may be paid or unpaid.
