The mission of University Advancement is to involve alumni and friends of the university in raising Towson University’s philanthropic and alumni engagement profile in support of the institution’s strategic priorities. Advancing Towson University’s interests by increased financial resources and alumni participation is critical to support academic programs and to respond to Maryland’s educational and workforce needs. Therefore, through the offices of Development and Alumni Relations, University Advancement strives to attract individual, foundation and corporate support as well as provide appropriate stewardship to all gifts to the university.

The vice president for the Division of University Advancement is responsible for establishing the overall goals and direction of the Development and Alumni Relations offices. He also serves as the executive vice president of the Towson University Foundation, Inc., and as liaison with the TU Board of Visitors and the TU Alumni Association Board.
