Brian Stelter returns to campus for screening of Page One
TU graduate, media reporter a featured cast member in documentary of The New York Times
TOWSON, Md. (March 15, 2012)—Towson University will host Brian Stelter for a special screening of Page One: Inside The New York Times to be held on Thursday, April 12, 7-8:30 p.m. in Van Bokkelen 204.
TU alumnus Stelter is featured in Page One, a documentary film chronicling a year in the Times' newsroom. Editor Bruce Headlam and reporters Tim Arango and David Carr round out the film, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival last year.
During his time at Towson, Stelter majored in Mass Communication and served as editor-in-chief of The Towerlight, the university's student newspaper. He was also the founder and editor of TVNewser.com, a wildly successful and pre-eminent blog about the television news industry.
After graduating in 2007, Stelter turned his experience into a job at The New York Times, where he currently writes about television and the web. He is also working on a book, tentatively titled Top of the Morning, about Good Morning America, Today and, as Stelter says, "the other morning shows that collectively set the nation's breakfast table every day."
Admission to the screening is free, but seats are limited and reservations are required.
