International film series takes students around the globe

Fourth Annual Bridges to the World Film Festival to be held on campus over next five weeks

Bridges to the World International Film FestivalTOWSON, Md. (Feb. 14, 2012 )—In an initiative to bring the world to campus, Towson University presents the Bridges to the World Film International Film Festival, a series of film screenings from far-off destinations like Austria, Brazil, Japan, Sri Lanka and Turkey.

The five-week event series is sponsored by the College of Fine Arts and Communication and Department of Electronic Media and Film, in conjunction with World Artists Experiences and the International Division of Maryland’s Office of the Secretary of State.

Together, they strive to foster global awareness, and increase open dialogue and exchange between Maryland citizens and their international counterparts.

The films will be screened on campus at Towson University’s Van Bokkelen Hall Auditorium, 8000 York Road. Presentations begin at 7 p.m., and will be followed by discussion. All films will be shown with English subtitles.

Admission to the screenings is free, but seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.
