TU launches Capital Campaign

University aims to raise $50 million for endowment

TOWSON, Md. (Nov. 3, 2006)–President Robert Caret (pictured with Ruth Marder) announced the kickoff of a new capital campaign in a special celebration Thursday evening in the Towson Center.

Hundreds of donors and supporters were on hand to celebrate the official launch of "Growing a University: The Campaign for Towson University."

The goal of the campaign is to raise $50 million to boost the university's endowment, as well as to increase annual giving and private support to the university in general.Towson launched its last campaign in 1997, raising $21.5 million.
