First MBA graduates receive diplomas at 143rd Commencement
TOWSON, Md. (Jan. 8, 2008)—Towson University awarded 1,241 baccalaureate degrees, 293 master’s degrees and one Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) degree at its 143rd Commencement Exercises on Sunday, Jan. 6, at the Towson Center.
The occasion marked the first time TU has awarded the Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. Five MBA graduates were expected to receive their diplomas at the 10 a.m. exercises for College of Business and Economics.
Eric A. Belgrad, professor of political science, received the 2007 President’s Award for Distinguished Service to the University. President Robert L. Caret honored Belgrad for exemplary contributions during his 41 years at TU.
Among Sunday’s graduates were 280 recipients of Latin honors, including 158 Cum Laude, 65 Magna Cum Laude and 57 Summa Cum Laude, as well as eight Honors College graduates.
