Towson University to award 3,421 degrees on May 23, 24 and 25

Bill Owens will receive honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree at 147th Commencement

Towson University's 146th CommencementTOWSON, Md. (May 17, 2012)—Towson University expects to award 2,692 baccalaureate degrees, 715 master’s degrees and certificates, and 14 doctoral degrees at its 147th Commencement on Wednesday, May 23; Thursday, May 24; and Friday, May 25 on campus at the Towson Center.

Bill Owens, alumnus and award-winning executive editor of 60 Minutes, will receive an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree at the May 25 exercises for the College of Fine Arts and Communication.

Baltimore resident and renowned actress Vivienne Shub will be awarded an honorary Bachelor of Arts degree at the May 25 exercises for the College of Fine Arts and Communication.

One hundred twelve students will graduate from the Honors College this spring. Latin honors will be awarded based upon final grade calculations.

All commencement exercises will be streamed live on the TU website. Viewers should log in beginning at 9:45 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. to watch the ceremonies. There are a limited number of connections.
