Weekly classes include ballet, modern, yogalates and hip hop
TOWSON, Md. (Jan. 11, 2011)—Towson University’s Department of Dance will offer adult dance classes open to the community.
All classes will be instructed by trained dance professionals and located at Towson’s Center for the Arts. The spring session begins Jan. 24 and lasts 16 weeks, ending May 16.
Classes in ballet and modern will be offered at four levels of ability: beginner, intermediate, advanced and professional. The Department of Dance will also offer classes in yogalates, a combination of yoga and pilates, and a three-week hip hop workshop series that begins April 2.
The classes are designed to help dancers of all abilities learn joy of movement and gain perspective of their bodies, while also refining their technique and building strength.
The cost is $11 for a 60-minute class and $13 for a 90-minute class. Drop-ins are welcome, but students who purchase an eight-week class card will receive a 10 percent discount. The hip hop workshop series is $11 per class, $5 for TU students, faculty and staff.
