TOWSON, Md. (May 9, 2007)--Towson University is pleased to announce a Fulbright Scholar grant has been awarded to Barbara Lanciers who is receiving her M.F.A. in theatre arts. The prestigious honor is given to approximately 800 United States faculty and professionals a year to lecture or conduct research abroad. Lanciers will be working in Hungary to categorize contemporary plays written in the past decade.
Lanciers is a performer, choreographer and director. She is the SITI Company choreographer for The Theater of a Two-Headed Calf in New York City.
The Fulbright Scholar Program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, with additional funding coming from governments and host institutions in the United States and abroad. The Council of International Exchange of Scholars (CIES) is a private, nonprofit organization that manages Fulbright Scholar exchanges.
