Week-long schedule includes a temple challenge, live performances, volunteer initiatives and football
TOWSON, Md. (Sept. 19, 2012)—Towson University alumni, students, faculty and staff will gather on campus to celebrate Homecoming 2012 with a week of concerts, rallies, scavenger hunts and community fundraisers, all culminating on Saturday, Sept. 22, when the champion TU Tigers take on the St. Francis Red Flash at Johnny Unitas Stadium.
Schedule highlights include a live performance by Third Eye Blind, karaoke contests, block parties, a treasure hunt, and the King and Queen of the Jungle Pageant. Students can also participate in the Legends of the Golden Temple challenge, where teams will race to cross a moat, climb the “steps of knowledge” and search a labyrinth.
Graduates of 2000 to present day are invited to the Millennium Reunion on Friday, Sept. 21, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Charles Village Pub in Towson, where alumni can reconnect with classmates, network with fellow grads and kick off homecoming weekend.
On Saturday, Sept. 22, students, alumni and fans are invited to the Homecoming Tailgate at 4 p.m. in Lot 14. The Homecoming game will follow at 7 p.m. in Unitas Stadium, where Towson fans can cheer the Tigers football team to victory against St. Francis.
The TU Alumni Association will also host the Alumni Hospitality Area, featuring food, conversation and giveaways, in the Auburn Pavilion from 3 to 7 p.m. The sold-out Alumni Tailgate Festival will be held concurrently in Lot 21 and on the field across from Auburn House.
