Towson provost named president of East Stroudsburg University
A message from President Maravene Loeschke
TOWSON, Md. (April 5, 2012)— Provost Marcia Welsh has been appointed president of East Stroudsburg University in the Pennsylvania State System of Education.
Dr. Welsh has served Towson University with distinction as provost and interim president. She has done a great deal to advance the excellence of the Academic Division in her three years at the university. Her leadership moved the university forward during her nine months as interim president. Dr. Welsh will bring the same leadership to her new institution and she will be missed at Towson.
Dr. Welsh will assume her new position on July 1. In the next few weeks, I will appoint an interim provost. It is our intention to conduct a search in early fall.
Please join me in congratulating Dr. Welsh and celebrating her contributions to Towson during the remainder of the semester. We wish Dr. Welsh the best on her new venture.
