TU Dance Company presents 'A Winter Rejoicing'

Dance performance celebrates the holiday season


TOWSON, Md. (Nov. 30, 2006)—The Towson University Dance Company presents A Winter Rejoicing, Friday, Dec. 1, and Saturday, Dec. 2, at 8 p.m. and a matinee performance on Sunday, Dec. 3, at 2 p.m. in the Stephens Hall Theatre, located at 8000 York Road. 

The concert includes works celebrating the season with a collection of dance styles from ballet to modern including Day Dreams, choreography by guest choregrapher Dion Wilson; Daisy Chain, choreography by Rachael Maragoudakis; City Raspody choreography by Stephanie Powell; Way of Five, choreography by Nai-Ni Chen; Bells, choreography by Keith Thomas; Le Grand Tango, choreography by Vincent E. Thomas; and the Towson University Dance Company with special guest Damien Patterson. 


The program features members of the Towson University Dance Company under the direction of Linda-Denise Fisher-Harrell, artistic director, and Catherine Horta-Hayden, executive director. Lighting design by Heather Sorensen technical direction by Paul Shapanus, and costumes by Kendra Shapanus. 

The Towson University Dance Company has performed in Russia at the Leningrad State Conservatory, with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and the Towson University Orchestra and was featured with the Towson University Jazz Ensemble in a nationally televised performance. Members of the company include Claude Alexander, Rachel Beiswenger, Krysia Bock, Anneke Collins, Jessica Colosa, Chandini Gilchrist, Allison Cook, Mya Hardy, Sam Harvey, Rachel Maragoudakis, Nicole Francesco, M’yka Middleton, Kimmy Noll, Alice Paulding, Stephanie Rowe, Natasha Saienni, Hailley Schwartx, Maggie Strawley and Erik Tomblyn.
