TOWSON, Md. (Feb. 6, 2012)—Towson University will host its annual Study Abroad Fair on Thursday, Feb. 9 from 11 a.m.–2 p.m. in the University Union Potomac Lounge.
Advisers, program directors and former study abroad participants will be on hand to provide information, answer questions and share their experiences.
"Study abroad is a rewarding, life-transforming experience that's an integral part of any academic program," says Liz Shearer, associate director of TU's Study Abroad Office. "Our programs allows students to develop the knowledge and skills needed to become successful members of the global community."
Last year, more than 350 TU students took part in international education programs including academic exchanges, internships, service-learning and more.
Towson and its affiliates offer programs on six continents, with the United Kingdom, Australia, Italy and Spain being the most popular destinations. A complete list of study abroad opportunities is available on the Study Abroad Office website.
Study abroad programs are available for an academic term, year, summer or Minimester. Financial aid and scholarships are available, and academic credit earned abroad can be applied to a range of major, minor or Core Curriculum requirements at TU.
