TOWSON, Md. (March 2, 2007)—Richard Berke, assistant managing editor of The New York Times, will present "An Inside Look at How The New York Times Decides on Front Page News" on Wednesday, March 7 at 6 p.m. in the University Union, Chesapeake Rooms II and III.
A former Times Washington bureau editor and national political correspondent, Berke covered presidential campaigns, Congress, the White House, and money and politics. He also was chief Washington correspondent for the Baltimore Evening Sun, covering Baltimore City Hall and Baltimore politics.
The lecture is part of the IPC's "Leadership for the Common Good" Speakers' Series, and is sponsored by the University Civic Engagement Steering Committee, the American Democracy Project and the New York Times Knowledge Network.
