Business globalization center to be advised by local business and government leaders
TOWSON, Md. (June 20, 2007)–TowsonGlobal, the Business Globalization Center and incubator recently founded in partnership between the Baltimore County Department of Economic Development and Towson University, has established an advisory board comprised of leaders from the local business and government communities. As the Baltimore region’s first international incubator for early-stage companies, TowsonGlobal is a place where entrepreneurial enterprises grow and learn how to compete in the global economy.
The inaugural meeting of the TowsonGlobal Advisory Board was held June 15 at the Business Globalization Center, located on the edge of TU’s campus across from Stephens Hall, the home of the College of Business and Economics. The Advisory Board is comprised of 16 business and government leaders who understand the challenges entrepreneurial ventures face and who can provide strategic guidance for the development of the Center itself. The Advisory Board is chaired by Dyan Brasington, CEcD, FM., Director of Workforce Development at Towson University.

Advisory board members will focus on the strategic view and long range planning of TowsonGlobal, as well as act as a resource for incubator members.
“The incubator’s goal is to help early-stage companies learn how to compete in the global economy,” says Clay Hickson, TowsonGlobal’s director. “Our advisory board members represent a cross-section of business and government leaders who can guide TowsonGlobal and its member companies on a variety of issues, including financial resources, human resource development, marketing, technology development, logistics and trade support.”
