U.S. News & World Report continues to give TU high marks

TOWSON, Md. (Aug. 17, 2010)—The U.S. News & World Report 2011 America’s Best Colleges guide ranks Towson University tenth in the public Regional Universities (North) category, placing it among the best of the 50 institutions surveyed.

Towson ranked fifth in its peer assessment score, a survey of other college presidents provosts, and deans.

Commenting on this year’s rankings, President Robert L. Caret said, “U.S. News has again recognized Towson University as one of the best institutions of its kind. We are proud of the educational environment we have created as well as the growth in size, quality and recognition we are experiencing.

“Although Towson addresses the variety and magnitude of issues peculiar to large, complex metropolitan universities, we not only continue to excel in competition with our peer institutions but also with smaller institutions in this category.”
