
H1N1 vaccine available to TU students, faculty, staff and certain family members on Dec. 9
TOWSON, Md. (Dec. 3, 2009)—Eligibility for the H1N1 flu vaccine has been extended to include all Towson University students, faculty and staff, and certain immediate family members of TU faculty and staff including:
- caregivers or parents of infants less than 6 months old (must provide documentation of child’s age)
- health care or emergency medical personnel with direct patient contact (must provide documentation)
- children of TU faculty or staff between the ages of 10 and 24 (because of different dosage requirements, we will not vaccinate children under 10 years of age)
- pregnant women (must provide documentation if pregnancy is not obvious to the casual observer)
- family members between 25 and 64 years of age with a chronic medical condition (for example: epilepsy; cancer; asthma; diabetes; heart, lung, liver or kidney disease; neuromuscular disorders such as MS or muscular dystrophy) or weakened immune systems from illness or medications.
Vaccination clinic hours for family members of faculty or staff will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Family members must be accompanied by a faculty/staff member with a TU OneCard or other valid photo ID.
Clinic hours for TU faculty, staff and students will be 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The clinic will take place in the gym in Burdick Hall.
Be sure to bring your TU OneCard and/or a valid photo ID.
