Towson competes in RecycleMania

TOWSON, Md. (Jan. 28, 2008)—Over the next 10 weeks Towson University will compete against nearly 400 other colleges and universities in a national recycling and waste minimization competition.

The RecycleMania competition begins January 27 and lasts until April 5. Participating colleges and universities will compete for the highest recycling rate, the largest amount of recyclables per student, the largest amount of total recyclables and the least amount of trash per student.

Schools will submit weekly campus recycling and waste statistics throughout the competition. Standings will be updated online each week based on the numbers submitted.

Towson has competed in RecycleMania for the past three years and placed in the top 30% in each competition.
