Services and Resources

Summer Trimester

Experience summer at Towson University with the services you'd expect – dining, housing, health services, campus rec and more are available during Summer Trimester.

Parking

Currently issued parking permits are valid through the Summer Trimester period. New parking permits for just the Summer Trimester will be prorated to the annual parking permit fee. Current rates are posted on the Parking Services website.

Dining Services

A variety of eating venues are open throughout the summer—see the listing below for specific hours and availability. Students can also use their OneCard at select area restaurants and stores. Get more information about Dining Services.

7720 Cafe

Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m.-2 p.m.

Paws Cafe

Hours: Monday-Thursday, 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m.; Friday, 7:30 a.m.-2 p.m.

Starbucks

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-2 p.m.

Housing

All undergraduates taking at least one summer class can live on campus. The cost for students to live on campus in the residence halls for summer 2012 is $150/week for a double room and $165/week for a single room. Contact Housing and Residence Life at 410-704-2516 for details.

Cook Library

Cook Library is open during Summer Trimester with full services provided. In addition to 270 computers, group and quiet study spaces, and a multimedia lab, librarians are available to assist with research assignments, using electronic resources and locating information in a variety of formats. Registered students may also access Cook Library’s electronic resources remotely. Please see the library website for a complete list of summer hours and services.

Academic Advising Center

The Academic Advising Center, located in the Lecture Hall Building, is open and available for appointments and walk-in advising during regular hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Academic Achievement Center and Tutoring

The Academic Achievement Center, located in Cook Library, 5th floor, is open throughout Summer Trimester, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Free tutoring and academic coaching are available upon request. For more information, see the website or call 410-704-2291.

• Requesting a Tutor 

Summer tutoring will be available for student-athletes by appointment through Academic Support Services in the Department of Athletics. Learn more about Towson Athletics academic services.

Writing Lab

The Writing Lab, a multidisciplinary tutoring service for TU students, faculty and staff, provides assistance with writing at any stage of the writing process. Located in Linthicum Hall, room 308, the lab will be open during the Summer Trimester. Check online for hours.

Dowell Health Center

The Dowell Health Center is conveniently located in Dowell Hall across from the Newell Den, Linthicum Hall and close to Cook Library. All registered Towson University students are eligible to use the Health Center. Please check the website for hours, services and appointment information.

Minimester Services and Resources

Many services and resources are available to students during Minimester, a three-week session offered in January.
