Estimated Expenses for International Students
All international students who wish to study in the United States must demonstrate the ability to afford all education and living expenses. To be considered for admission, you must provide financial statements that prove your ability to cover all costs for at least your first year of study at Towson.
The following table provides an estimate of what you can expect to pay for the nine-month academic year at Towson.

Figures are in U.S. dollars. Actual costs for the nine-month school year can vary, particularly for off-campus housing, meals, living expenses and certain programs of study. University tuition, fees, housing and meal costs may be subject to increases annually.
Sponsors
Students may be sponsored by a parent, relative, friend, government agency, scholarship agency or themselves. Students may have more than one sponsor, however each sponsor must submit financial statements for the funding they provide.
Sponsors may reside in the U.S. or abroad. If a sponsor’s bank account is in one of the following countries, original monthly bank statements for at least three consecutive months must also be submitted: Angola, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Congo, DRC, Cote D’Ivoire, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Malawi, Mali, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sudan, Swaziland, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe.
Financial Statements
A financial statement must be submitted by every sponsor who provides funding for a student to attend Towson. The statement must have original signatures of the sponsor and a bank official, and be dated within six months of the application date or semester of entry. Photocopies or faxed copies of financial statements are not acceptable.
Financial statements must reflect an additional $9,000 for a spouse or $5,000 for each child accompanying the student.
Employment
On-campus employment is permitted; however, authorization to work off campus must be granted by the U.S. government.
Fees
All students must submit a $325 enrollment fee upon accepting an offer of admission from Towson. Students who live on campus are charged a $350 room deposit. A $50 fee is charged for any check returned unpaid by a bank. A 17-percent collection fee will be charged on all delinquent accounts.
