My own student experiences helped prepare me for my job.
I remember being excited, nervous and eager when I was going through the college search. I understand what students and parents are experiencing, and I can answer any questions or concerns they have.
Here's something you may not know about Towson.
There's always something to do here. Students are within walking distance of a beautiful mall, great places to eat, and a Barnes and Noble (my favorite). We're only a "hop, skip and a jump" from downtown Baltimore, where students can enjoy sporting events or cultural activities.
My advice to anyone who's applying.
If you apply before Dec. 2, you'll be eligible for merit-based scholarships. I know things can get hectic after the Thanksgiving break, so apply early and enjoy the rest of your senior year.
The coolest thing I've heard someone say about Towson.
Students often tell me they're impressed with Towson's efforts to become a greener campus. For example, our new Liberal Arts Building has an eco-friendly roof to help reuse rainwater. The building can also measure the amount of light needed and can cool itself with outside air.
My "warm and fuzzy" moment.
My favorite experience is watching students step onto the campus for the first time and seeing how thrilled they are about attending Towson University.
