freshman APPLICATION checklist

We're looking for students who are eager to learn and to give back to their community outside of the classroom. We embrace diversity and seek students from varying backgrounds. We believe Towson is a richer learning community because of it. Towson is an energetic campus and a great place to connect with students from different cultures and backgrounds. You'll find a passion for learning in your major and plenty of programs, resources, clubs and organizations that will keep you on the go.
When considering applicants for admission to Towson, we pay close attention to grades, standardized test scores, recommendations and writing samples.
How You Can Apply:
There are three ways you can apply to Towson: Our online application, the Universal Application or print a paper (PDF) application. Our online process takes approximately 30 minutes to complete and can be saved. Once you’ve submitted the online application, you will receive an electronic confirmation. We will begin processing all applications during the fall months. We will begin mailing decision letters in November.
If you are interested in the Honors College, you will need to complete the separate Honors College application in addition to the Towson University Application for Admission.

These criteria may include auditions before enrolling in the major, or taking prerequisite courses and satisfying minimum GPA requirements while enrolled at Towson. You should be aware of these requirements during the admission process. Please refer to the online Undergraduate Catalog regarding the specific requirements for your intended major. In addition, we recommend that you contact the major department for additional information.
