Freshman To-Do List
The To-Do List information below is for students entering fall 2011. Information for students entering fall 2012 will be available in mid-April.
We care about your health at Towson. You are
required to complete and return your fall 2011 Pre-Entrance Health Form and Immunization Record by mail to Dowell Health
You must complete and return your health
and immunization records as soon as possible.
Failure to meet the university’s mandatory
immunization requirements will affect your
access to class scheduling. Required ImmunizationsFor a reasonable charge, students may obtain required vaccines (MMR, Tetanus-diphtheria-pertussis, Meningitis vaccine) by appointment at the Dowell Health Center, 410-704-2466. Charges will be billed to your tuition account. Representatives from the Dowell Health Center will be available at orientation check-in to accept your health and/or immunization record or to assist you in faxing requests for missing information to your health care provider.
Student Health Insurance PlanNeed health insurance? All students should have insurance to protect
against high medical bills resulting from an unexpected serious illness or
injury. Check out the Towson-sponsored Student Health Insurance Plan.
This yearly insurance plan begins August 15, 2011, and provides coverage
through January 22, 2012. To view the plan brochure and enroll online, visit the Dowell Health Center website and click on Student Health
Insurance. Private Insurance Plan Billing at Dowell Health CenterThe Dowell Health Center will bill most private insurance plans for
services provided at the health center if you wish us to do so. Please
bring your insurance information every time you visit the Dowell Health
Center. We are contracted as “preferred (in-network) providers” with
several of the major insurance companies that serve our students, which
will mean less out-of-pocket cost to you. For more information regarding
