In order to make your transition to Towson University as smooth as possible, we have created this To-Do List with important tasks for you to complete before you start classes. Towson University will communicate important information to you using your personal email account and your TU NetID computing account. If you do not receive Towson notifications at these email addresses, please email us your full name, mailing address, and old and new email addresses with “email change” in the subject line to It is important that you check your TU and personal email account regularly for important information about your transition to Towson University.

How We Will Communicate After July 31, 2014

Effective July 31, we will no longer communicate with you at your personal email address.

Towson University departments will begin communicating with you using ONLY your TU NetID/TU email account. Notifications range in subjects and include topics such as billing, class scheduling, notifications from your professor, student club information, student activities on campus, etc. If you are not already doing so, you must check your TU email account regularly so that you are aware of and you can respond to these notifications as necessary.

1. Apply for Financial Aid Deadline: ASAP

2. Activate Your NetID/TU Email Account
(Students reserving on-campus housing must complete prior to paying housing deposit.)

3. Complete Online University Housing Request and Submit $350 Deposit
(Students: You must activate your NetID before you can complete this task.)
Deadline: May 1 at 5 p.m. EST
4. Complete Academic Interest Form Deadline: June 1
5. Complete Immunization Requirements Deadline: June 30
6. Register for Pre-Orientation Events Deadline: ASAP
7. Schedule Placement Testing Deadline: Within two weeks of notification letter
8. Accept Financial Aid Package Deadline: Within two weeks of notification letter
9. Request Disability Support Services Deadline: ASAP  (if applicable)
10. Register for Emergency Text Messaging Deadline: ASAP


Complete on or before July:

11. Learn About Student Organizations Deadline: July 1 (suggested)
12. Review Your Online Fall Term Bill & Complete your 1098-T Consent Deadline: July 18 (available this date)
13. Get Your OneCard Deadline: July 30 (suggested)


Complete on or before August:


14. Submit Final Official High School Transcript Deadline: August 1
15. Complete Housing Vaccine and Move-In Requirements
(only if living in Paca or Tubman Houses or Millennium Hall)

16. Complete AlcoholEDU and Haven Education Programs (The program will be available starting July 24.) Deadline: August 18
17. Determine Parking Eligibility Deadline: August 18
18. Attend "Welcome to Towson" Orientation Events Event Dates: August 23-26
