Spring 2014 FRESHMAN TO-DO LIST

Complete Academic Interest Form - Deadline: January 3
Contact: Academic Advising Center ● 410-704-3678

To get your spring schedule of classes:

  • Complete the Academic Interest Form as soon as possible, no later than January 3.

    • Your responses on the form will be used to develop your first-term schedule of classes.

    • Other factors that will be considered are the University Core Curriculum requirements, graduation requirements, test scores, academic/major interests, special considerations (ex. athletic practices, Honors College) and course availability.

    • Professional Academic Advisors will create schedules in the order in which the forms are received.

    • You will be assigned to a First-Year Experience (FYE) Adviser. This will appear on your schedule as a class (ORIE 306).

    • You will receive your official final schedule during your freshman orientation.

  • Follow the steps below to complete the form:

    • Read all information relating to the Academic Interest Form. In addition, we suggest you review the list of University Core Curriculum courses available at the Academic Advising Center website.

    • Answer all questions and submit the form. You may submit your form any time after officially enrolling at Towson University, but the earlier you submit your form the more class options will be available to you.

    • To view Frequently Asked Questions, visit the Academic Advising Center.

  • SCHEDULE CHANGES WILL ONLY BE MADE AFTER MEETING WITH YOUR FIRST-YEAR EXPERIENCE ADVISER DURING ORIENTATION.

Advisers take great care in creating schedules. Each student’s interests and needs are reviewed individually. If, however, you feel there are educationally essential changes that need to be made, you can consult with your First-Year Experience adviser during your new student orientation. Changes may be made depending on course availability. There is a “change of schedule” period during the first week of classes. Students have the opportunity to make changes during that time as well.

  • If you would like to speak with an advisor about completing the Academic Interest form, you can chat with us or email freshreg@towson.edu. Included in your email should be your name, Towson University ID number, the phone number or email where you would like to be contacted and a brief description of your question. If you are asking to be contacted by phone, please let us know the preferred times you would like to be called.

  • If you have questions or need assistance, contact the Academic Advising Center at 410-704-3678.
