Meet Lindsay Cosgrove
“After taking an Art History class, I was inspired to travel to Rome, Sicily and Southern Italy.” Lindsay in Italy

Why did you choose TU?

It was just a feeling. Other schools in the area are too big–you get lost in the crowd. Towson University is more of a community. Faculty were so welcoming when I arrived my first year and offered guidance and support. TU is a great school.

Who is your favorite professor?

Dr. Rodney Stump, chair of the Department of Marketing and E-Business. He was tough, but I grew the most with him. His marketing research course really taught me a lot.

What is one of your favorite classes?

I've enjoyed a lot of classes at Towson University, but I really liked my art history course. Although it was a general education class, I learned so much. The class inspired me to travel and, as a result, I studied abroad after I took the course.

I went to Rome, Sicily and Southern Italy. It was fantastic! Because I went during Minimester, it was just a few weeks. It was a great introduction to travel for me. I'd love to go back and experience it again. The people–the places–it is indescribable.

Did you always know you wanted to study marketing?

No. (laughs). In fact, I had three other majors before marketing and economics. I began in biology, switched to English, then secondary education and finally decided that marketing was what I wanted to do. It is better to dive into something you really want than to stick with something you are unsure of. I sampled classes in each area and found that I loved marketing the best!

Tell me about your most interesting internship experience?

I really enjoyed my experience at the Baltimore Museum of Industry. On my second day they were filming a public service announcement, and I was asked to be in it. It was fun to run around with the camera crew.
