Experience Towson

Landscape outside of Prettyman and Scarborough

One of the best ways to decide if Towson is right for you is to hear from our students and faculty. You can meet some of our students, learn more about student life, and see our campus. We encourage you to visit an Open House or take a campus tour.

Research, Service Learning and Study Abroad

College is more than just going to class, taking notes and showing up for exams. It’s your choice to try new things—go above and beyond the minimum requirements—and challenge yourself in different ways. Towson University encourages all students to study abroad, participate in service-learning projects, and complete undergraduate research. By learning in a different culture, giving back to the community, and completing a research project under the guidance of a mentor, you’ll make your college experience more meaningful.

Career Center Opportunities

Career development is a lifelong process. Exploring careers and developing career-related competencies gives you an opportunity to achieve a competitive edge in the real world. TU’s Career Center offers individual career advising appointments, internship programs, workshops, job listings, a career resource library and computer lab, on-campus recruiting interviews, job fairs and student employment.

Internships

Experience is the best teacher. It makes sense that a university dedicated to your academic and professional success challenges you to pursue internships. The Career Center at Towson University can help you find an internship that matches your career goals and interests. TU’s proximity to Baltimore, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia and New York affords many internship opportunities. Towson students find that internships often lead to careers—it’s one of the best ways to help secure a job after graduation.

Commuter Services

Off-Campus Student Services provides you a wide range of resources, services and programs designed to enrich your educational experience. TU’s goal is to engage off-campus students in co-curricular activities to expand and enhance their overall college experience.  Students living off campus can find MTA information and schedules, area maps, and commuter-friendly programs online.  Housing & Residence Life can assist you with questions and concerns about off-campus living arrangements.
