Congratulations on your decision to attend Towson University!

We are very excited to welcome you to the Towson University family and to help you make the most of your time at TU. In order to make your transition as smooth as possible, we have created the Transfer Program and 2012 Transfer To-Do List.

The Transfer Program

The Transfer Program is designed to assist you with your transition to life at TU. This important program is split into two sessions that you are required to attend: Transfer Program Part I, which takes place in July, and Transfer Program Part II, which takes place in August. During these sessions you will receive advising for your major, build your schedule for the next term, meet with faculty members and fellow students from your major, obtain your One Card student ID and much more.

You will be given a variety of Transfer Program dates to choose from. Remember, you will choose two dates—one for each part of the program. For Part I, the available dates are determined by your intended academic major.

2012 Transfer To-Do List

In addition to the Transfer Program, important tasks for you to complete before you start classes are listed in the 2012 Transfer To-Do List. It is important to read this booklet and complete all To-Do List items before the start of classes. If you have questions about any of the items on the To-Do List, please contact the appropriate office prior to orientation or plan to arrive promptly on your Transfer Program Part I date. University representatives will be available to assist you.

Effective upon your enrollment, Towson University will communicate important information to you using your personal email account and your TU NetID account. Remember to:

  • Activate your NetID and check both your personal email account and TU NetID account regularly for information about this To-Do List and your NetID online to-do list. See Activate Your NetID for additional information.
  • If you do not receive Towson notifications at your personal email account, please email your full name, mailing address, and old and new email addresses with “email change” in the subject line to admissions@towson.edu.
  • Share this information packet with your family. If you require additional information or assistance with any step in the To-Do List process, contact the department directly using the telephone number located on each packet insert. You may also contact New Student Programs at newstudentprograms@towson.edu or 410-704-2309, or visit the New Student To-Do List website, where this entire package is also available.

Faculty and staff are busy planning your transition to Towson. You can expect many fun activities to help you get to know your classmates and professors, as well as many resources for ensuring your continued academic success. Also, please consider registering for one of our popular pre-orientation programs—Project Marj and Project Serve—to get an early start on your exciting new journey as a Towson Tiger.

We are looking forward to seeing you this fall. Welcome to Towson University!
