Step 3: Accept Financial Aid Package

Deadline: Complete Before Your TU CARES Date

Contact: Financial Aid Office - 410-704-4236

The information below pertains to students entering fall 2009. Information for students entering spring 2010 will be available during November 2009.

If you completed your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in time to meet the March 1 financial aid priority deadline, you should have received a Towson University financial aid notification in the mail. You must accept or decline your financial aid offer. Although you can respond to your aid offer by mail, the best way to accept or decline the offer is online at Towson Online Services (see Activate Computing and E-mail Account link information). You must accept or decline your offer within two weeks of the date printed on the notification or by May 1, whichever comes later. If you do not respond within two weeks, the offer will be subject to cancellation.

Follow these steps to accept or decline your aid offer:

  1. Go to http://students.towson.edu

  2. Click on Towson Online Services

  3. Log in using your TU ID # (provided in your financial aid notification and Offer of Admission letter)

  4. Click on Self Service and then Student Center.

  5. Under the heading of Finances you find the following links:

    • View FInancial Aid

    • Accept/Decline award

Receiving a FInancial Aid Notification does not always mean that your application is complete, or that your aid package will not change. You must check your Towson Online Services To-Do List weekly to find out what you must do to complete your financial aid application and receive aid. To complete this:

  1. visit http://students.towson.edu

  2. click on Towson online Services

  3. log in using your username and password

  4. click onTo-Do List on the right side of the page

Note: If you have difficulty accessing your account, call Student Computing Services at 410-704-5151.

If you have any questions about your financial aid package or your applications for other types of assistance, you can:
  • visit the Financial Aid Web site

  • consult the Financial Aid Notification Guide

  • visit our receptionist on campus at the Enrollment Services building, room 339

  • call the Financial Aid Call Center at 410-704-4236

  • E-mail us at finaid@towson.edu

  • schedule an in-person or telephone appointment with a financial aid adviser by calling 410-704-4236

  • visit the Scholarship Seeker Web site

Financial aid that you have accepted will appear as a credit on your university account after you have completed all financial aid related items on your Towson Online Services To-Do List. For more tuition bill information, see the Pay Tuition Bill link below.
