Transfer To-Do list
The information below pertains to students entering fall 2009. Information for students entering spring 2010 will be available during November 2009.Get ready to get involved at TU!One of the best ways to experience college life is to get involved. At Towson University, you have countless opportunities to interact with people who have the same interests and passions as you do. You can even try something new!
You can make new friends through Fraternity and Sorority Life, volunteer with the Red Cross Corps, represent your peers as a member of the Student Government Association, play club ice hockey, or learn about another culture in one of our many cultural organizations. It’s all possible at TU with over 200 student organizations on campus.
Even if you’re not ready to join an organization, you’ll have lots to choose from with the variety of activities planned for students each term. Student organizations like the Campus Activities Board (CAB) sponsor numerous cultural, educational and social programs for all Towson students. Check out guest lecturers, comedians, film screenings, coffeehouse events and road trips throughout the year at www.towson.edu/studentactivities/cab. Fall Involvement FairMark your calendar for Wednesday, September 9, and make sure you are on campus for the annual Fall Involvement Fair, taking place from 4 - 6 p.m. on Burdick Field. This is a great opportunity to talk to student organization members, learn about their organizations and find out how you can get involved.
Learn the Tiger PledgeA Message from our Vice President for Student AffairsI know that as you receive this very important To-Do List, you find yourself living in two worlds... your current life and the life you are transitioning to at Towson University. I know what a bittersweet time this must be for you; there is much excitement and joy about what is forthcoming and a bit of sadness regarding what you are leaving behind.
As a TU student I will...
It is not a coincidence the "take responsibility for myself and the choices that I have made" item is listed first. As you become a fully engaged TU student, the choices you make and the consequences that stem from your decisions will impact your college career. You, alone, are responsible for your actions and your success at TU. For example, you have to decide to study or hang out with friends, to complete assignments and homework detailed in a syllabus without a faculty member reminding you, to accept the consequences for behavior that disrupts the community, and to be informed about university policies. Certainly you can count on programs, services, and staff members to assist you in the acceptance of responsibility for your total experience. Additional information will be available in August about the Tiger Pledge and your responsibilities as a member of our community. Enjoy the rest of your summer and I look forward to meeting you in the near future.
