Transfer To-DO LIst
The information below pertains to students entering fall 2009. Information for students entering spring 2010 will be available during November 2009.An optional community service event for freshman and transfer students.
Project Serve will take place August 24-26. Students who will live in university residence halls will move in early on August 24.
To Apply:Print out and complete the form below. Mail the completed form, $100 check (made payable to Towson University), and a one-page (maximum) essay. The topic of the essay is "Why I Enjoy Community Service." If you would like to include your past experiences, please submit a separate community service resume; this information should not be included in your essay. Scholarships are available. For additional information, contact Dirron Allen at dallen@towson.edu or 410-704-3928. Applications are due by 5 p.m. on July 15, 2009. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered. Space is limited. Participants will be notified via e-mail of their acceptance by August 1. Checks will be returned to applicants who are not selected. Project Serve is a great way to start your college career! This program allows freshman and transfer students to get involved before the fall term even begins. Participants will spend two days giving back to the Baltimore community. Past experiences have included building houses with Habitat for Humanity, volunteering at a local food bank, preparing meals at the Helping Up Mission, and helping beautify schools in Baltimore City. In addition to community service activities, there will be several team-building exercises, social activities and a celebration dinner at the end of the program.
