The College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) comprises the departments of art, dance, electronic media and film, mass communication and communication studies, music, and theatre arts. The newly renovated Center for the Arts is the headquarters for the college. Through classroom and experiential preparation, COFAC's programs prepare graduates for exciting careers and/or graduate study. The broad liberal education we offer, along with specialized professional training in their respective fields, enables students to develop creative and analytical abilities that can be tailored to their future aspirations. The College of Liberal Arts is the largest of the academic colleges at Towson, with undergraduate programs in anthropology, cultural studies, criminal justice, English, environmental planning, environmental science and studies, family studies, geography, history, interdisciplinary studies, international studies, law and American civilization, metropolitan studies, modern languages, philosophy, political science, psychology, religious studies, social science, sociology and women's studies. The college offers graduate programs in geography and environmental planning, human resource development, liberal studies, professional writing, psychology and several interdisciplinary studies programs. More than 2,500 undergraduates major in programs in the College of Liberal Arts. Our recent graduates have launched successful careers in such diverse fields as journalism, law, counseling, urban planning, criminal justice, publishing, teaching, management, international relations and business.
