Financial Aid Calendar

(For Prospective New Undergraduate Students)

Follow this calendar of deadlines and dates for Towson University’s financial aid process. Other schools may have different deadlines. If you are applying to other schools, make sure to check with their financial aid office.


  • Take the SAT or ACT, if you have not already.

  • Visit college campuses and attend college fairs. Towson University hosts several Open Houses in the fall with financial aid representatives available for questions. You can view the schedule and register online.

  • Apply for admission to your top choices.

    • To be considered for Towson university admissions-based scholarships, make sure you complete your TU application by December 1.


  • Complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online by February 15 each year for the next academic year that begins in September.

  • Look for your first acceptance letters from schools. The Towson University Office of Admission tries to inform students of acceptance within 6 weeks of receiving an application.

  • Start to check your Towson Online Services TO Do List regularly. 


  • Attend admitted student events at the colleges where you were accepted.

  • If you completed your FAFSA by February 15 and have been offered admission to Towson University, you will receive an offer of financial aid. View your offer and accept or decline your aid offer by using Towson Online Services
  • Check your Towson Online Services TO Do List regularly.


  • Choose the school you want to attend.

  • Notify the admissions office of that school.

  • Accept and return the financial aid offer from the school you've chosen.

  • Complete your master promissory notes for student loans or file parent loan applications, if necessary.

  • Notify other schools that you have made a decision.

  • Continue to check your Towson Online Services TO Do List regularly.
