The Albert S. Cook Library, located near the center of the campus, contains more than 580,000 books, more than 1,960 print periodicals, and a variety of other media, including microforms, audiocassettes, videos and DVDs. In addition to Towson's library, the online catalog gives TU students access to the collections of all of the other University System of Maryland campus libraries. The more than 80 online databases and 2,164 electronic journals provide indexing to thousands of periodical articles, many of which are in a full-text format.

Along with new carpet, paint, lights, and desks, Cook Library's renovated third floor has an Information Commons with over 125 new computers and eight group computer work areas.
