Wellness is about balance. It's not about loading your already full plate with still more things to do. It's about finding a good balance between the different aspects of yourself and your life. Because when you create the right balance, each part nourishes the others.
The eight parts of the Educating the Whole You wellness model are:
Intellectual wellness
Physical wellness
Relational wellness
Emotional wellness
Vocational wellness
Financial wellness
Spiritual wellness
Environmental wellness
More and more social science research is suggesting that these different areas are interrelated. Exercise can help you think more clearly. An active spiritual life can increase longevity. Doing a job you enjoy can make you happier. And so on.
That's why giving some attention to each of these areas is important. In other words, balance is key. It leads to a happier, healthier you.
