The only way to make a good career choice (i.e., choosing a career you will enjoy and be good at) is by first knowing yourself well. Your personality, values, interests, and talents all have implications regarding the best careers for you. There are a variety of ways to learn about these aspects of yourself, but often the most straightforward way to do so is to take career assessments and to review your results with a career counselor. The purpose of career tests is not to tell you what career field to enter, but rather to give you information about yourself that you can use as a springboard for investigating careers that might be a good match for who you are. Read more about career assessments on the Vocational Wellness main page, or check out the assessments and other career services available at the TU Counseling Center.
