TU to offer BRAC technical writing certificate

TOWSON, Md. (February 17, 2010) - TU’s newest Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) grant, funded through the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC), will develop an online post-baccalaureate certificate program in Technical Writing and Information Design.
 
The program is designed to provide professional development opportunities to transferred employees of BRAC who have jobs in technical writing and editing or in information technology management. David Dayton and Phillip Gochenour, assistant professors in the Department of English, aim to prepare this workforce for the technical communication needs of the military. Through the BRAC Higher Education Investment Fund, MHEC has awarded Dayton and Gochenour $44,908 to develop and deliver this online certificate program offering both convenience and flexibility to BRAC employees.
