Towson, Md.(December 7, 2011): The American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU) Grants Resource Center (GRC) offers a number of resources for faculty intererested in sponsored funding. Through the Office of Sponsored Programs & Research, Towson?s subscription to this service provides all faculty and staff with access to the following resources, among others:

· Faculty Alert System: The main purpose of the Faculty Alert System is to give faculty the opportunity to receive monthly notices that are fine tuned to their specific needs. These alerts may include federal and private funding opportunities, with application deadlines extending three months out.

· Proposal Handbook: The GRC proposal development handbook can be downloaded from the website and is an excellent introduction to grantsmanship for beginning researchers, or those interested in refining their proposal writing skills.

· Proposal Library: Since the AASCU is made up of a consortia of institutions, it is able to offer a library of successful proposals donated by the members to provide examples of successful organization, layout, and presentation in proposal writing.

· GrantSearch One of the hallmarks of the Grants Resource Center is its funding database, GrantSearch, designed exclusively for GRC member campuses. It was developed to make finding federal and private foundation grant information accessible and convenient by allowing the user to search the funding opportunity database using five criteria: academic subject, activity, funding sponsor, deadline month, and text.

The OSPR is available to assist faculty in using any of the GRC services to their fullest effect and provide instruction where necessary. To access the GRC, please contact the OSPR at 410 704-2236 for the Towson login information. After logging in, faculty will have full access to GRC services.
