Research AND Funding Opportunities
Many resources are available to faculty, staff and students looking for research and funding opportunities. Towson University subscribes to two Web-based search engines, the Illinois Researcher Information Service (IRIS) and Community of Science, both accessible online from faculty and staff desktops. Both can be searched by multiple criteria, including keywords, sponsor and deadline. While they are very similar, they complement each other.
In addition, many free resources list federal, state and private funding opportunities for research and other scholarly projects.
The Office of University Research Services can help you identify appropriate funding opportunities and conduct funding searches. Our weekly newsletter, Alive Line, archived on our site, includes announcements of upcoming funding opportunities likely to be of broad interest, arranged by discipline. Another resource is the subscription newsletter, The Grant Advisor Plus.
