The Office of Sponsored Programs & Research (OSPR) coordinates all aspects of research at Towson University, from the identification of funding opportunities to the development of proposals, to compliance issues including requirements for the protection of human and animal subjects of research.
Training for compliance issues is available via workshops or guest speakerships, as well as online. Contact ospr@towson.edu to arrange a workshop or in person training. For online training, see the following:
Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI): Towson subscribes to this online training service, offering Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR), as well as Animal Care and Use and Human Subjects in Research training for faculty, staff, and students. If you are not sure which modules to completed, contact OSPR.
NIH Financial Conflict of Interest Training: The National Institutes of Health require additional Conflict of Interest training, in accordance with revised regulations in 2011.
Proposals to external funding agencies must be submitted by the OSPR. Proposals will be submitted to a funding agency after the normal internal university proposal review and approval procedure has been followed and all of the necessary signatures and approvals are obtained.
*Please Note: OSPR is currently
revising our proposal review and approval
procedures and forms. For Proposal Review
and Approval procedure, please contact OSPR.
Technologies that are conceived or developed by Towson University employees should be disclosed to the Office of University Counsel (OUC). The Invention Disclosure form provides information about your invention to provide the initial evaluation by OUC.
