MATH 109

Summary

The course MATH 109 is a combination of MATH 102 and MATH 111.

This means that you will be expected to complete units 3 and 4 of the developmental mathematics program as well as the curriculum of MATH 111. The benefit is that you will complete both your developmental mathematics requirement and your GenEd/Core Curriculum mathematics requirement.

This courses meets five hours per week. The first five weeks of the semester are devoted to MATH 102. If you pass both MATH 102 tests, then you spend the rest of the semester studying MATH 111.

MATH 109 earns 3 units towards graduation and satisfies the GenEd / Core Curriculum mathematics requirement. This class is open only to students who need to complete MATH 102.

What happens if you do not pass the MATH 102 part of MATH 109

Then you will be transferred into a section of MATH 102. Please keep in mind that while MATH 109 is not using the Course Compass technology, you will be required to buy the Course Compass access code when you join MATH 102.
