Ohoe Kim, a native of Korea, joined the faculty in the fall of 1972. He received his Bachelor's degree from Korea University, Seoul, Korea and his Master's and Doctorate degrees from the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York. His research interests are stochastic processes and mathematical finance. He also is active in creative problem solving research using AI techniques. He was a founding member of Faculty Development Committee and Applied Mathematics Lab. He founded Actuarial Science and Risk Management Program within Mathematics Department. This program has been designated a Center of Actuarial Excellence by the Society of Actuaries and there are only 15 universities to receive this honor in USA. In the state of Maryland, Towson University is the only institution that has earned such a distinction. He has served Director of the Program since its inception in 1980.
