Mathematics majors who receive a grade of “D” in a 100 level course prerequisite to calculus must repeat the course no later than concurrent with calculus. Mathematics majors or minors must attain a grade of “C” or higher in any 200, 300 or 400 level course used as a prerequisite or applied towards a major or minor. Unless otherwise noted, prerequisites must be satisfied prior to taking a course.
For students in the applied mathematics concentration, the Department of Mathematics recommends that PHYS 241 be taken to help satisfy the Core Curriculum Requirement 7 (Biological and Physical Sciences (Lab only), or Core Curriculum Requirement 8 (Biological and Physical Sciences (Lab & Non-Lab).
Students in the applied mathematics concentration with a minor in Economics may use ECON 451 as one of their Application Electives.
