Applied Mathematics Concentration

Notes for Majors

Mathematics majors who receive a grade of “D” in a 100 level course prerequisite to calculus must repeat the course no later than concurrent with calculus. Mathematics majors or minors must attain a grade of “C” or higher in any 200, 300 or 400 level course used as a prerequisite or applied towards a major or minor. Unless otherwise noted, prerequisites must be satisfied prior to taking a course.

For students in the applied mathematics concentration, the Department of Mathematics recommends that PHYS 241 be taken to help satisfy the General Education Requirement in Category II.A.1.

Students in the applied mathematics concentration with a minor in Economics may use ECON 451 as one of their Application Electives.
