Dr. Haller specializes in feature writing, newswriting and reporting; media law and ethics; media portrayal of people with disabilities; and online journalism. Research areas: mass media images of disability issues and people with disabilities, news media history, the alternative and ethnic press. Co-Editor of the academic journal (2003-2006), Disability Studies Quarterly.
Dr. Haller's book, Representing Disability in an Ableist World: Essays on Mass Media, covers her 20 years of research into disability and mass media. It is available at Advocado Press.
