Dr. Jennifer Potter has been involved in competitive speech and debate since 1993 as a high school and college competitor, college coach, and director of two forensics programs. She earned her Ph.D. from Howard University in 2008, where she successfully directed the Howard University Speech Team for two years before coming to Towson University. Her research interests focus on intercultural communication, gender studies, and rhetorical theory and criticism. She has competed in policy debate, parliamentary debate, and all individual events/speech events. Towson University Forensics is especially important to her because of the program’s commitment to building advocacy skills that help students change their own communities.
