High School Journalism Day
Thank you to all of our instructors, advisers and students who made this year's workshop a big success on oct. 7, 2011. Our classes in 2011 included:

We will be announcing the 2012 High School Journalism Day and the Maryland High School Journalism Awards Contest by March 15, 2012, on this website and through our mailing list. If you'd like to join our mailing list, email the workshop coordinator, Stacy Spaulding.
Details
The cost per student is $20, which includes lunch and parking. Advisers and chaperones attend free. Schools that win a Maryland High School Journalism Award receive five complimentary student registrations. Return your registration form to:

Maryland High School Journalism Awards contest
The judges have decided this year's winners for best news and feature story, best sports news and feature story, and best photo (PDF). Congratulations to the schools who placed in this year's Best in Show category, judged Oct. 7, 2011:

This year, we will decided this year's "Best Newspaper Overall" category at High School Journalism Day. Schools brought one to three of their most recent publications to the workshops Friday, Oct. 7, 2011. Judging began at 10 a.m. Winners were announced at the noon luncheon (PDF).

The workshops are located on the third floor of the University Union. Buses may drop students off at the Union between 9:30 a.m. and 10 a.m., and should return to pick students up at 2 p.m. Bus parking is located at the Towson Center parking lot.
Individual parking is on the first floor of the Towsontown Garage in designated guest spaces, using the guest access codes in the parking kiosks. If you plan to drive a car or van, please pre-register so we can provide you with guest parking codes.
